27 people die when bus overturns in southern Mexico

twenty seven people, among them a child of a year and a half, died Wednesday in Mexico when a passenger bus overturned in oaxacareported the authorities of that southern state.

The accident happened in the early morning in the town of Magdalena Peñasco, in the Mixteca region, when the private vehicle, coming from the Mexican capital, overturned and fell into a ravine, indicated the Oaxaca government secretary, Jesus Romero.

“The driver of the unit lost control when driving behind the church and fell into a ravine more than 25 meters deep,” said Romero. He reported shortly after that it is presumed that the driver’s fatigue or lack of expertise caused the accident.

In statements to the local television station Milenio, the government secretary said that thirteen men, thirteen women and a child under a year and a half died in an accident, and that about twenty people were injured, some of them in serious condition.
