The 49ers dominated the game early, leading 27-10 midway through the fourth quarter and 30-17 with just 4:25 remaining. This dominant performance showcased their ability to control the pace and tempo of the game.
Cowboys Late Rally
However, the Cowboys refused to go down without a fight. They mounted a late comeback, putting pressure on the 49ers in the final minutes. Dak Prescott, seeking his 24th career comeback, led a determined drive, but ultimately fell short. A crucial drop by KaVontae Turpin on a long pass sealed the Cowboys’ fate, denying Prescott another chance to lead his team to victory.
Offensive Explosions
The 49ers’ offense exploded in the second half, scoring three consecutive touchdowns after trailing 10-6 at halftime. Brock Purdy showcased his talents, completing 18 of 26 passes for 260 yards and a touchdown. George Kittle was a force to be reckoned with, catching six passes for 128 yards and a touchdown. Deebo Samuel added eight touches for 86 yards before leaving the game with a rib injury. Rookie Isaac Guerendo stepped up, rushing for 85 yards and a touchdown on 14 carries.
For the Cowboys, Dak Prescott threw for 243 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions. CeeDee Lamb was a bright spot, catching 13 passes for 146 yards and two touchdowns. Ezekiel Elliott added 34 yards and a touchdown on the ground.
The 49ers’ defense played a crucial role in securing the victory, with Deommodore Lenoir and Ji’Ayir Brown intercepting Prescott. Nick Bosa also contributed with one of the team’s two sacks.
This win puts the 49ers at 4-4, tied for the lead in the NFC West. The Cowboys fall to 3-4.
