4th International Quran Competition in Indonesia Honors Top Performers

The 4th International Musabaqah Tilawatil Quran (MTQ) concluded in Jakarta on February 1, 2025, after three days of intense competition featuring 60 participants from 38 countries across Asia, the Middle East, Africa, Europe, and America.

Quran Recitation Winners

In the Quran recitation category, Indonesia’s Imranul Karim emerged victorious in the men’s division. Sayed Rohullah Hashimi from Afghanistan secured second place, with Ahmad Safi Abo Omaralhalabi from Syria claiming third. Among the women, Indonesia’s Diana Abdul Jabbar took the gold medal, followed by Sabaha Pato Salik from the Philippines in second and A’tiqah Binte Suhaimi from Singapore in third.

Quran Memorization Champions

The Quran memorization category witnessed another impressive performance from Indonesia, with Yasin Albar clinching the top spot in the men’s division. Emad Mustafa Hasan Aldubbati from Libya and Aiemiddin Fakhrudinov from Russia secured second and third place respectively. In the women’s division, Nafisatul Millah from Indonesia claimed the championship, with Muna Abdifatar Abdifarah from Kenya in second and Aysfa Eza from India in third.

Competition Theme

The competition’s theme, “Al-Quran, Environment, and Humanity for Global Harmony,” reflected the Quran’s teachings on environmental stewardship and human values, emphasizing the importance of global harmony.

The last edition of the MTQ was held in 2015. An impressive 187 countries participated in the pre-qualification stage at the end of 2023.
