Hanno Pijl,a professor of Diabetology,explains intermittent fasting: “During the 16 hours you don’t eat, crucial metabolic processes occur. Research, particularly with animals and increasingly with humans, shows these processes are beneficial for your health.Glucose and fat metabolism improve,and blood pressure often decreases.”

“these benefits are especially pronounced for individuals who are overweight,” Pijl adds. “Fewer studies have been conducted on people with a healthy weight, and the effects appear to be less significant.”

For those aiming to lose weight,the 16-8 method offers a straightforward dietary approach: simply eat everything within an 8-hour window. Generally, people find themselves making slightly healthier food choices, and evening snacks or sugary drinks are frequently enough eliminated.
