Peyton Armstrong, a rising star in Hollywood, is making waves with her role as Velma Raybon in the CBS drama “Tracker.” The Indiana native brings a grounded authenticity to the character, a young woman navigating a complex relationship with her often-troubled father, Colter Raybon, played by Justin hartley.
Armstrong, who grew up in Bloomington, Indiana, says she drew on her own experiences to portray Velma’s unwavering loyalty to her father, despite his flaws.”I think a lot of people can relate to that,” she explained. “Her father might not be the best role model, but she still very much cares for him.”
Armstrong and Hartley share a particularly touching scene early in the series when Raybon sustains injuries and Velma steps in to help conceal them with makeup.
“I loved it. It was real makeup. I got to do his makeup. It was cool. I had a beauty blender brush, the whole shebang, and it was great,” Armstrong said. “That’s actually one of my favorite scenes in the series because it’s just so sweet, and it just captures them so well in thier relationship.”
