Bambie Thug: From Eurovision to Arena Tours – The Rise of an Irish Pop Icon
Bambie Thug is riding high after a whirlwind year. Their Eurovision performance, landing them Ireland’s most successful result since 2000, catapulted them into the international spotlight. Now, with their “Crown The Witch” tour captivating audiences across Europe, Bambie is embracing the journey with characteristic enthusiasm and authenticity.
A Year of Growth and Connection
“It’s been amazing, the community that we’ve built and my fans are incredible,” Bambie shared, radiating joy. “I honestly, genuinely think that they’re the best fans in the world, they’re just so kind, they’re so good, they’re so nice, I’m so proud of it.”
The Eurovision experience, while controversial, proved to be a valuable learning curve. “My media training went up tenfold, which is great,” Bambie laughed. “I learned a lot about performance for TV, which is awesome. I learned a lot of eye-opening stuff about how that side of it works.”
Facing Challenges with Grace
Bambie faced criticism and online negativity head-on. “At this point, they’re improving my algorithm, so you know what, it’s fine,” they shrugged. “I do think hurt people hurt people and people who hold a lot of hatred will always push the blame onto something else.”
They choose to focus on the positive, using their platform to advocate for peace and raise awareness about the conflict in Gaza. “It’s important for me because it’s the best way that I can spread the message and show support,” Bambie explained, referring to their song “Children Should Be Laughing.”
Fangtasy: A Triumphant Anthem
Bambie Thug’s new single, “Fangtasy,” is a catchy and empowering anthem. “It’s about marching to your own drum beat and just doing you,” Bambie said. “It’s also a bit of a ‘f you’, like, I can make radio music too!”
Looking Ahead
With an arena tour with Babymetal on the horizon and more music in the works, Bambie Thug’s future is bright. “Right now I have many beautiful things coming. I’ve got an arena tour next year with Babymetal and more festivals and more music. And maybe a nap somewhere!” they laughed.
