Tesla Launches Cheaper Models in Europe

Tesla has released less expensive standard versions of the Model 3 and Model Y in Europe to address falling sales and recent actions by CEO Elon Musk.

According to Tesla’s Dutch website on December 6th, the Model 3 standard is priced at 36,990 euros (about $43,130), which is roughly $10,000 less than the premium long range model (about $53,620).

Like in the US, the standard model has fewer features, including less premium materials, no rear passenger infotainment screen, a standard roof, and simpler lighting. It also has less motor power and a shorter driving range.

The Model Y is also available in a standard model for 39,990 euros (about $46,630),over 10,000 euros cheaper than the premium long range model (about $59,450). Both models will begin deliveries in December.

Tesla is releasing these standard versions because sales in Europe have dropped significantly.
