Search for Missing Man, Brandon Roche, Continues in Wexford
Search efforts for Brandon Roche, a 20-year-old man missing since entering the water at Wexford Quay on Sunday, will resume on Tuesday.
Search Efforts Begin Following Disappearance
The man, identified by local media as Brandon Roche, was last seen entering the water early Sunday morning. A comprehensive search operation was immediately launched by the RNLI, Coast Guard, Garda water unit, and Slaney Search and Rescue.
Family Appeals for Public Assistance
In a heartfelt plea to the public, Keith Murphy, a family member of Brandon Roche, stated, “If anybody over the coming days have any time to offer, we will be conducting searches along the coastline, and we’d be grateful for anybody who can participate.”
The search continued on Monday evening but was ultimately unsuccessful. The family has emphasized the continued need for assistance, specifically requesting drones equipped with cameras to aid in the search efforts.
Official Statements from Authorities
Gardaí issued a statement Sunday afternoon confirming the search operation along Wexford Bridge and Harbour. “The RNLI and Coast Guard attended the scene immediately and conducted a search of the area,” they stated.
A Coast Guard spokesperson provided further details about the incident:
“At approximately 2.05am, the Irish Coast Guard was alerted to an incident in Wexford town where a member of the public was reported to have entered the water. Rosslare/Carnsore and Curracloe Coast Guard units, Wexford RNLI inshore lifeboat and Waterford based Coast Guard helicopter R117 were tasked to the scene, with the assistance of the gardaí who were also present on scene.”
The search for Brandon Roche remains ongoing.
