Liepāja Port in Latvia continued to demonstrate robust performance in 2025, processing 4.55 million tons of cargo. Bulk cargo remained the dominant category, with agricultural products leading the way. This includes grain sourced from both Latvian farmers and Central Asian nations.

The port facilitated critically important imports of key commodities, notably Argentine soybeans and Brazilian sugar, which were then transported onward to Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. This highlights Liepāja’s role as a crucial transit hub for agricultural trade in the region.

while the agricultural and energy resource sectors (wood chips and pellets) experienced a slight downturn in volume – attributed to unusually warm winter temperatures and inclement summer weather – the construction materials segment saw growth. This was primarily driven by increased shipments of cement produced in Bročeni, Latvia.
