ATM Theft Attempted at Children’s Hospital – Two Men Arrested

An attempted ATM theft occured at the Royal Victoria Children’s Hospital in Belfast early Saturday morning, according to the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI). The incident took place at approximately 3:15 AM.

Police reports indicate that two individuals, disguised as maintenance workers, entered the hospital premises and successfully loaded the ATM onto a trolley. They then attempted to transport the machine to a waiting vehicle outside. However, the suspects ultimately abandoned their efforts, leaving the ATM intact at the scene.

Despite an immediate response and thorough searches of the area, officers were unable to locate the suspects. A PSNI spokesperson emphasized the importance of public vigilance and urged anyone observing suspicious activity to report it to the police promptly.

The PSNI is actively seeking information from the public and has issued an appeal for assistance. Specifically, investigators are requesting individuals who were in the vicinity of the hospital between 3:00 AM and 4:15 AM to review any mobile phone or dashcam footage that may contain relevant evidence.This footage could prove crucial in furthering the examination and identifying those responsible.

The investigation remains ongoing, and authorities are committed to pursuing all available leads to apprehend the individuals involved in this attempted theft.
