DUBLINERS have been left heartbroken after a beloved Irish cafe announced its immediate closure due to financial difficulties.

The Music Cafe, located on Wellington Quay in the capital, has shut its doors after 14 years in business.

The popular Dublin cafe opened its doors in 2012 in the Grattan House building, which is under a preservation order due to its unique architectural and historical significance.

It was well-known for its welcoming atmosphere and music gigs that occur several times a week, making it one of the unique cafe spots in the capital.

However, their recent announcement has shocked many locals and tourists who frequently visit the popular Temple Bar spot.

Beloved customers were devastated by the closure news, taking to the comments section of the announcement to send their well-wishes to the team and offer kind words during their difficult times.

The neighbouring establishment DiFontaine’s Pizzeria said: “Neighbour, so sorry to hear this.”

Blas Cafe in Dublin also paid a heartbreaking message to the staff: “All the love and support to you guys right now. Such a perfect cafe.”

‘SUCH A LOSS’

A local customer wrote: “My favorite coffee shop, yall got me through my masters I’ll miss you.”

Another customer added: “Such a loss.”

The third person said: “So sorry to hear this! What an amazing place! One of my favourite secret spots in the city ever since I got here!”

A bittersweet customer commented: “omg I remember going there in my first year in Dublin trying to get my life together and feeling relaxed next to the liffey and the vibes of the cafe.

“I hope you make it somewhere else.”

SUPPORT PLEA

In the wake of the news, several customers have pleaded with staff for a way to support them during their difficult times.

A heartbroken local wrote: “Is there any way the community could support you during this time?

“I know that this place is such a landmark for so many locals!”

A tourist said: “We loved coming here when we were visiting Dublin. Please let us know if we can support you even though we are abroad.”
