LG Soundbar Deal: 1,600 CZK – Is It Worth It?

Let’s be honest: you can’t expect miracles from a soundbar for 1,600 crowns. LG SQM1 is a basic 2.0 system without subwoofer, without HDMI ARC and without advanced features. Still, it has its place – if you have a small living room and the tinny sound from the TV bothers you, this is the cheapest route to a sensible upgrade.

It is enough for small rooms

Customers agree on one thing: the SQM1 is fine for a small room, but not for a larger space. “I use a 77″ LG OLED TV in a smaller living room and it sounds much better than the TV,” writes one reviewer, adding that the sound is comparable to soundbars from higher price categories. Another customer sums it up succinctly: “OK for a small room.”

40W power and 2.0 configuration without a dedicated subwoofer means don’t expect deep bass. But one reviewer notes with surprise: “It also pulls out the bass, which I’d expect more from a subwoofer.” It depends on the expectations – compared to the thin speakers in modern TVs, it is a noticeable shift, compared to five thousand soundbars with a wireless sub, of course not.

Optical cable is a must

This is the most important advice from the reviews: connect the soundbar with an optical cable, not via Bluetooth. “I recommend connecting via optical audio cable. Bluetooth connection is weak. Significant difference,” notes one customer. Another confirms: “The sound quality via Bluetooth is significantly lower than when connected with an optical cable.”

The soundbar does not have HDMI ARC, which is common with entry-level models. However, the optical input works reliably and when connected to an LG TV, the soundbar automatically turns on and off together with the TV. You can control the volume with the remote control from the TV, you don’t need to pull out a separate controller for the soundbar.

What to watch out for

One reviewer warns, “I recommend going straight up. The 700 series doesn’t include advertised features like room sound adjustment.” If you expect advanced features, you will be disappointed. The SQM1 is a really basic model – stereo sound, Dolby Digital, and that’s it.

Another customer points to occasional synchronization problems: “For some channels, the sound from the soundbar is offset from the sound from the TV speakers.” The solution is to turn off the sound directly on the TV and let only the soundbar play.

The original price was CZK 2,290 and now with the code ALZADNY30 it costs CZK 1,603. The 4.2 out of 5 rating from 25 customers is true – 84% of people are satisfied, but three customers gave one star. For 1,600 crowns you get a reasonable upgrade for a small living room, nothing more and nothing less. If you have more space or higher requirements, look for models with a wireless subwoofer.

Do you use a soundbar for your TV, or are the built-in speakers enough?
