UT Martin STUNT Team Continues Dominant Run, Completes Undefeated Tournament Sweep

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – The University of Tennessee at Martin STUNT team extended its impressive start to the 2026 season, completing an undefeated run through the Northern Kentucky Tournament on Sunday, February 15th. The Skyhawks secured victories over Purdue University and Northern Kentucky University, bringing their overall record to 6-0 and their Mid-America West Conference (MAWC) record to 2-0.

Skyhawks Defeat Purdue in Shutout Victory

UT Martin began the day with a decisive 22-0 shutout victory against Purdue University. The Skyhawks established an early lead, taking a 4-0 advantage in the first quarter (partner stunts). They continued to build their lead with four points in the second quarter (pyramids and tosses), followed by another 4-0 quarter in the third (jumps and tumbling), and capped off the game with 10 points in the final quarter (team routine).

Dominant Performance Against Northern Kentucky

The Skyhawks continued their winning streak with a 29-6 triumph over MAWC rival Northern Kentucky University. UT Martin never trailed in the matchup, starting with a 4-0 lead after the partner stunts quarter. They extended their advantage to 9-1 at halftime and 14-2 after the jumps and tumbling quarter, before finishing strong with 15 points in the team routine quarter.

Scoring Leaders

Braylee Smith led the Skyhawks in scoring against Purdue with 14 points. Against Northern Kentucky, Smith again topped the scoring with 15 points. Several other Skyhawks contributed significantly throughout the tournament, with Addison Cary, Kira Butz, Makayla Elenbaas, Jennifer Jaco, Cayla Garner, and Emily Wood all achieving double-digit scores in at least one game. Specifically, against Northern Kentucky, Kira Butz (12 points), Cary (12), Mia Henry (12), RyanBeth Goodman (11), Elenbaas (11), Jaco (11), Emily Wilcher (11), Livia Comuzie (11), Wood (11), Jameson VanWormer (10), Sidnee Smith (10) and Alyssa Calamia (10) all reached double figures.

Looking Ahead
