Google Pixel 10a: AI-Powered Innovation at $499

Google has officially introduced the Pixel 10a, bringing flagship-level AI tools and a best-in-class camera system to a more accessible price point of US$499. Positioned as the newest member of the Pixel 10 family, the device blends Google’s signature software magic with a refreshed design and upgraded durability – all while remaining wallet-friendly.

A Sleeker, More Sustainable Design

The Pixel 10a debuts a refined, completely flat back with a seamlessly blended camera bar – making it easier to slide into your pocket and rest flush on any surface. It arrives in four colors: Lavender, Berry, Fog, and Obsidian. The build leans heavily into sustainability, featuring a 100% recycled aluminum frame and an 81% recycled plastic back cover. For the first time in the A-series, recycled cobalt, copper, gold and tungsten are too incorporated into the device.

The phone sports a 6.3-inch Actua display that’s 11% brighter than its predecessor, with upgraded Corning® Gorilla® Glass 7i for improved scratch and drop resistance. It also comes with an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance.

Built to Last – In More Ways Than One

Under the hood, the Pixel 10a runs on Google’s custom Tensor G4 chip with 8GB of RAM, enabling full access to Gemini – Google’s AI assistant. Battery life clocks in at over 30 hours on a single charge, stretching up to 120 hours with Extreme Battery Saver turned on. Swift charging and wireless charging are also supported.

Google is also committing to seven years of OS, security, and Pixel Drop updates, meaning this could be the only phone you’ll need for a while. For safety, Pixel 10a includes features like Car Crash Detection and Crisis Alerts, alongside theft protection and regular security updates.

A Camera That Punches Above Its Weight

The Pixel 10a features a dual rear camera setup: a 48MP main camera and a 13MP ultrawide lens. It also supports Macro Focus and Night Sight for detailed close-ups and low-light photography. For the first time on an A-series device, Camera Coach uses Gemini models to offer step-by-step guidance on lighting and composition. Auto Best Seize helps ensure everyone looks their best in group shots with a single shutter press.

On the editing front, users can tap into Google Photos’ AI tools to remove objects, change backgrounds, and more with just a few prompts. Video capabilities include 4K recording at 30fps and optical plus electronic image stabilization, along with tools like Audio Magic Eraser and Cinematic Pan.

Powered by Gemini

Pixel 10a gives users full access to Gemini, including Gemini Live for natural, back-and-forth conversations. Users can also use Circle to Search to quickly seem up anything on screen, or lean on Call Screen and Hold For Me to filter spam and wait on hold.

The device launches with Android 16 and Material 3 Expressive UI, bringing refreshed app visuals, wallpaper effects, and a modernized notification shade.

Pricing and Availability

The Pixel 10a will be available online and in-stores via the Google Store, and retail partners Singtel, Shopee, Metapod, iShopChangi, COURTS, Lazada, Amazon SG, Best Denki and Harvey Norman from 5 March. It comes in 128GB and 256GB storage options. Google is also launching matching Pixel 10a cases in all four colors, alongside Pixel Buds 2a in new Berry and Fog colorways.

With its blend of AI smarts, durable build, and camera-first experience, the Pixel 10a aims to deliver “everything you need, at a price you’ll love.”
