Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen Versions Arrive on Nintendo Switch This February
Pokémon fans have a reason to celebrate as classic adventures return to Nintendo Switch. Pokémon FireRed Version and Pokémon LeafGreen Version, originally released for Game Boy Advance in 2004, will be available to download from the Nintendo eShop following the Pokémon Presents on Friday, February 27, 2026 .

These remakes offer a fresh experience of the Kanto region, the setting of the original Pokémon Red and Pokémon Blue. Players will revisit the familiar storyline with updated graphics and the added content from the Sevii Islands, first introduced in Pokémon FireRed Version and Pokémon LeafGreen Version .

The livestream will be hosted on The Pokémon Company’s official YouTube channel . This year’s Pokémon Day is particularly significant as the Pokémon franchise celebrates its 30th anniversary .
