‘Evil Dead Wrath’ Begins Filming as ‘Evil Dead Burn’ Nears Release

Production is officially underway for the next installment in the Evil Dead franchise, Evil Dead Wrath, following the upcoming release of Evil Dead Burn. The continuation of the horror series comes after the success of 2023’s Evil Dead Rise, which grossed nearly $150 million worldwide [1].

‘Evil Dead Wrath’ Details

Directed by Francis Galluppi (The Last Stop in Yuma County), Evil Dead Wrath will star Charlotte Hope (The Nun), Jessica McNamee (Mortal Kombat franchise), Zach Gilford (“Midnight Mass”), Josh Helman (Mad Max: Fury Road), Ella Newton (Dangerous Animals), Ella Oliphant, and Elizabeth Cullen [2]. Galluppi also penned the script for the film.

The project is being produced by Sam Raimi and Robert Tapert’s Ghost House Pictures, continuing Raimi’s practice of selecting directors for standalone entries in the Evil Dead universe, which he created in 1981 [1]. Bruce Campbell and Lee Cronin will serve as executive producers, alongside Romel Adam and Jose Canas [1].

Release and Distribution

Evil Dead Burn, directed by Sébastien Vaniček, is scheduled for release on July 24, 2026 [2]. Evil Dead Wrath will follow, though a release date has not yet been announced.

Domestically, New Line Cinema will distribute Evil Dead Wrath through Warner Bros. Pictures. Sony Pictures will handle international distribution, with StudioCanal distributing in the UK and Metropolitan Filmexport in France [1].

Franchise Momentum

The Evil Dead franchise has seen a resurgence in recent years. Evil Dead Rise (2023) proved the enduring appeal of the series, paving the way for these back-to-back installments [3]. Production on Evil Dead Wrath began on February 14, 2026 [4], shortly after wrapping on Evil Dead Burn in October 2025 [4].
