Waterford Roadworks: Traffic Disruptions on N25 and R669

Motorists in County Waterford should anticipate potential delays this week due to planned roadworks on the N25, and R669. Waterford City and County Council has announced traffic management systems will be in place to facilitate essential repairs and maintenance.

N25 Roadworks at Windgap (The Sweep)

Stop/Move traffic management will be operational on the N25 at Windgap (The Sweep), located west of Dungarvan, for the duration of Tuesday, February 24, 2026. Waterford City and County Council advises road users to leisurely down and proceed with caution in the area.

R669 Roadworks on Upper Main Street, Cappoquin

On Wednesday, February 25, 2026, Stop/Go traffic management will be in effect on the R669 Upper Main Street in Cappoquin between 8:00 AM and 6:00 PM. The Council urges drivers to exercise caution whereas traveling through this section of road.

Additional Roadworks on the N25

Further roadworks are currently underway on the N25 between Carroll’s Cross and Ballyduff East. These works, which began on July 7, 2025, involve resurfacing a section of the road and are expected to continue until mid-September 2025. Temporary traffic management is in place daily from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM. Stop/Go systems are currently in operation. Waterford City and County Council has acknowledged potential delays and is working to minimize disruption.

Roadworks at Cushcam

Roadworks at Cushcam, 4km East of Dungarvan, were previously in effect from August 13th to August 21st, 2024, utilizing Stop/Go traffic management. Waterford City & County Council advised drivers to expect delays and drive carefully.
