Oslo Grenade Case Dropped Against 13-Year-Aged, Linked to Swedish Gang Foxtrot
Oslo, Norway – A case against one of two 13-year-old boys arrested following a grenade explosion in central Oslo in September 2025 has been dropped, as the suspect is under the criminal minimum age. The incident occurred on Pilestredet Street, near a university campus, the royal palace, and the Israeli embassy.
The initial explosion on September 23, 2025, prompted a large police response and a rare emergency alert sent to residents’ mobile phones as reported by Türkiye Today. A second, unexploded hand grenade was later discovered and safely neutralized by bomb disposal experts according to Evrimagaci.org.
Case Dismissed Due to Age
“He has constantly refused to explain himself and used his right not to explain himself until now. I therefore do not wish to comment further on the facts, but I note that the case is closed due to the fact that he is under the criminal minimum age,” said lawyer Øystein Storrvik, representing one of the boys as reported by VG. The case has been transferred to the child protection service.
The lawyer representing the other 13-year-old, Marius Dietrichson, stated he is unaware of any changes to that case’s status according to VG.
Connection to Foxtrot Gang
The grenade incident is believed to be connected to a case of deprivation of liberty and involves the Swedish gang Foxtrot as reported by VG. The conflict reportedly stems from a debt of several million kroner owed by a family member of the kidnapped 24-year-old to the Foxtrot gang.
Another grenade attack on Bislett, which damaged a beauty salon, is too linked to this ongoing conflict according to VG.
No injuries were reported in either incident.
