Indonesia Launches Coretax Form for Simplified Annual Tax Reporting

JAKARTA, Indonesia – The Directorate General of Taxes (DJP) of Indonesia has officially launched the Coretax form, an electronic form designed to streamline the annual tax reporting process for individual taxpayers. This modern form is accessible through the Coretax administration system and aims to simplify SPT (Annual Income Tax Return) submissions.

What is the Coretax Form?

According to the DJP, the Coretax form facilitates taxpayers in fulfilling their reporting obligations and ensures accurate recording of Annual SPT data within the Coretax system [1]. The form is specifically designed for individual taxpayers who meet certain criteria:

  • Have income from employment, business, and/or freelance work.
  • Submit an Annual SPT with a nil status (no tax due).
  • Do not utilize the norm for calculating net income (NPPN).

How to Access and Apply the Coretax Form

Taxpayers can access the Coretax form through the “Notification Letter (SPT)” menu on the Coretax platform, located at coretaxdjp.pajak.go.id. To properly utilize the form, taxpayers will need to have Adobe Acrobat Reader version RC 20 or later installed on their systems [3].

Detailed guidance on completing the Annual Individual Income Tax Return with a nil status using the Coretax form is available at http://s.kemenkeu.go.id/panduanCoretaxForm.

Expanding Access Through M-Pajak

In addition to the Coretax form, the DJP is preparing to release an SPT reporting feature through the M-Pajak platform in the near future. This expansion aims to alleviate traffic congestion on the Coretax system. Director General of Taxes, Bimo Wijayanto, noted that approximately 70%-80% of individual taxpayers are employed by a single employer, making M-Pajak a viable option for capturing a significant portion of tax filings [2].

The M-Pajak feature, initially designed for Android smartphones, is expected to launch soon.

Recent Changes to Indonesian Tax Reporting

The launch of the Coretax form and the upcoming M-Pajak feature are part of broader changes to Indonesian tax administration. Starting with the 2025 tax year, individual taxpayers are now required to provide more detailed asset information when filing their annual tax return [2]. This change, implemented under Regulation PER-11/PJ/2025, supports the implementation of the new Core Tax Administration System [1].
