Andrea Gaston to be Inducted into the SoCal Golf Hall of Fame
Former USC women’s golf head coach Andrea Gaston has been named as one of six members of the Class of 2026 SoCal Golf Hall of Fame, as announced by the Southern California PGA and the Southern California Golf Association on Wednesday, February 25, 2026.
A Legacy of Championship Golf at USC
Gaston built the USC women’s golf program into a powerhouse during her 22-year tenure (1996-2018). She led the Trojans to three NCAA Championships (2003, 2008, and 2013) and four Pac-12 titles. Under her direction, the team consistently reached the NCAA Championships, achieving a remarkable 21 consecutive appearances.
Coaching Achievements and Player Development
Throughout her career, Gaston coached five NCAA individual champions: Jennifer Rosales (1998), Mikaela Parmlid (2003), Dewi Claire Schreefel (2006), Annie Park (2013), and Doris Chen (2014). She also mentored four NCAA Players of the Year, five Pac-12 Golfers of the Year, and three Honda Sports Award winners. A total of 22 of her golfers earned a combined 49 All-American honors.
Early Career and Collegiate Success
Before her coaching career, Gaston was a successful amateur golfer herself. She qualified for the 1977 U.S. Women’s Open and achieved 10th place at the NCAA Championships while playing for San Jose State. She also had a successful return to competitive golf in the early 1990s, winning the California Women’s Amateur Championship in both 1993 and 1994.
Hall of Fame Recognition
Gaston was previously inducted into the WGCA Hall of Fame in 2010. The induction ceremony for the SoCal Golf Hall of Fame Class of 2026 will take place on March 5 at the Industry Hills Golf Course at the Pacific Palms Resort in City of Industry, California.

Gaston will be inducted alongside Bill Spiller, Maggie Hathaway, John McNair, William Watson, and D. Scott Chisholm. Golf Daily reports that Spiller and Hathaway are civil rights pioneers who fought for inclusion in golf.
