Newsfrom Japan
Tokyo, Jan. 29 (Jiji Press)–Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba has announced that his country will actively engage in dialogue with China, including at the leadership level, in order to address ongoing challenges and foster greater coordination between the two nations. Emphasizing the shared responsibility for regional and global stability, Ishiba stated this during his address to the House of Councillors.
“We will work together to reduce challenges and increase coordination,” Ishiba said. “The two countries have serious responsibility for the peace and prosperity of the region and the international community,” he added.
Alongside strengthened ties with China, Ishiba highlighted the importance of robust cooperation with Southeast Asian countries. He underscored that his recent visit to Malaysia and Indonesia yielded agreements on enhanced economic and security partnerships. These engagements signal Japan’s commitment to regional stability and development.
On domestic political matters, Ishiba reiterated his support for a law governing political parties, while maintaining his opposition to a complete ban on political donations from companies and organizations.
