Manny’s Mexican Kitchen Brings ‘More Mex, Less Tex’ to CityLine Richardson

Richardson, TX – Manny’s Mexican Kitchen, a new concept from the family behind the popular Dallas Tex-Mex chain Manny’s Tex-Mex, officially opened its doors in CityLine on Wednesday, February 25, 2026. The restaurant aims to offer a more authentic Mexican dining experience, focusing on regional cuisine and handcrafted cocktails.

A New Concept in CityLine

Located at 1250 State St., across from the CityLine Plaza development, Manny’s Mexican Kitchen joins a growing culinary scene in Richardson that includes Show Mini Hot-Pot, Good Union Urban BBQ, Edoko Sushi, and Oni Ramen [1]. The restaurant occupies a 5,115 square foot space designed to be a “lively, colorful setting designed for gatherings and celebrations” [1].

‘More Mex, Less Tex’

Manny’s Tex-Mex first opened in Uptown Dallas in 2005 and currently operates four locations in the Dallas area. Manny’s Mexican Kitchen represents a shift towards “authentic Mexican cuisine,” with a menu featuring regional dishes not traditionally found in Tex-Mex restaurants [1].

What’s on the Menu?

Diners can expect to find dishes like chamorro en adobo (slow-braised pork in a chile-spiked sauce) and Michoacan-style carnitas. The restaurant will similarly prepare its own birria, served as quesabirria tacos with plenty of cheese [1]. Popular Manny’s Tex-Mex favorites, such as chorizo-topped queso and classic combo platters, will also be available.

Regional Mexican Cocktails

The cocktail menu draws inspiration from regional Mexican libations, featuring drinks like the Chapultepec, a mezcal drink inspired by Oaxaca, and the Jalisco Punch, a paloma served in a traditional earthenware vessel called a cazuela [1].

Grand Opening and CityLine Welcome

Manny’s Mexican Kitchen held its grand opening on February 25, 2026, and is open for lunch and dinner seven days a week [3]. Marissa Gonzalez, marketing director for CityLine, expressed excitement about the new addition, stating that it will enhance the dining experience and provide guests with something new to discover [1].

A Vibrant Atmosphere

Manny’s Mexican Kitchen aims to create a vibrant and welcoming atmosphere for all guests [2]. The space was designed in partnership with Coeval Studio, known for its work on other Dallas restaurants like Pizza Leila and Coupes [1].
