Lakeville, Massachusetts Plow Truck Fire Under Investigation

Two heavy-duty snow plow trucks were destroyed by a fire Saturday night in Lakeville, Massachusetts, after extensive use during recent blizzard recovery operations. The Lakeville Fire Department responded to the scene at the intersection of Bedford Street and Lakeside Avenue shortly before 11 p.m.

Details of the Incident

Upon arrival, firefighters found two plow trucks fully engulfed in flames. The fire posed a threat to numerous other plow trucks, heavy equipment, and a nearby maintenance building. Additional crews were dispatched to contain the blaze and prevent further damage. Firefighters successfully prevented the fire from spreading beyond the two original vehicles.

Operational Context

According to the Lakeville Fire Department, the two trucks had been stationary for over 24 hours following more than 100 hours of operation each during the storm response.
