Program Impact and Support

Victor Lagang, head of the Cagayan de Oro Office of Senior Citizen Affairs, emphasized that the program provides crucial assistance to senior citizens who may not be beneficiaries of existing indigent social pension programs. The OSCA coordinates with chapter offices in the city’s 80 barangays to disseminate information about available programs and services.

NCSC-10 Regional Director Mary Jean H. Asum highlighted the program’s role in promoting awareness of government services for older persons and reaffirming the commission’s commitment to their welfare. The NCSC also collaborates with agencies like the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) and the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) to offer livelihood programs and cybersecurity awareness initiatives.
