Wrestler Tsogbadrakh Tseveensuren Sanctioned with Four-Year Ban for Doping

Wrestler Tsogbadrakh Tseveensuren of Mongolia has been handed a four-year ban from competition after testing positive for testosterone, the International Testing Agency (ITA) announced on March 4, 2026. The sanction stems from an adverse analytical finding (AAF) during the 2025 Senior Asian Championships held in Amman, Jordan.

Details of the Case

The initial AAF was reported on June 19, 2025, following a sample collection on March 29, 2025, at the Senior Asian Championships . The sample contained exogenous testosterone, a prohibited substance listed as S1.1 Anabolic Androgenic Steroids under the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) Prohibited List .

Following the notification, Tseveensuren was provisionally suspended. The case was then submitted to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) Anti-Doping Division (ADD) for adjudication. On January 26, 2026, CAS ADD found that Tseveensuren had committed an anti-doping rule violation (ADRV) for both the presence and use of a prohibited substance, violating Articles 2.1.2 and 2.2 of the United World Wrestling (UWW) anti-doping rules .

Sanction and Disqualification

As a result of the CAS ADD decision, Tsogbadrakh Tseveensuren has been sanctioned with a four-year period of ineligibility, commencing on June 19, 2025, and concluding on June 18, 2029. All competitive results achieved by the athlete between March 29, 2025, and June 19, 2025, have been disqualified .

Right to Appeal

Tsogbadrakh Tseveensuren, along with UWW, the ITA, WADA, and the Mongolian National Anti-Doping Agency, have the right to appeal the CAS ADD decision to the Appeals Arbitration Division of CAS.

The ITA has stated it will not provide further comment on this case .
