Paradigm Shift: Immersive Video Art Exhibition Transforms 180 Studios in London
A landmark exhibition, Paradigm Shift, has transformed the subterranean spaces of 180 Strand in London, showcasing a compelling collection of moving image works from the 1970s to the present day. The exhibition, which opened on October 15, 2025, and runs through February 1, 2026, explores the evolution of video art and its intersection with avant-garde cinema, television, music video, performance, fashion, gaming, and internet culture.
Exploring Revolutions in Moving Image Culture
Curated by Jefferson Hack and Mark Wadhwa, Paradigm Shift traces the multiple revolutions within moving image culture. The exhibition features both newly commissioned works and iconic historical pieces, highlighting how artists have continually broken boundaries and redefined image-making through technological innovation. Hack notes that video art and moving image have always existed “at a crossroads: high and low, visceral and conceptual, personal and political,” and the exhibition aims to showcase how artists inspire new ways of engaging with storytelling through screens.
