Ukraine’s 2026 Military Academy Admissions: Benefits and Financial Support

The admissions campaign for Ukraine’s higher military educational institutions began on January 1, 2026, offering a pathway to a military career with significant financial and social benefits. Beyond a quality education, cadets receive comprehensive support, including salary, accommodation and medical care.

Financial Support for Cadets

Cadets in Ukrainian military academies receive a monthly scholarship that varies based on their year of study, academic performance, and social status. The financial support aims to attract and retain talented individuals committed to serving in the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Scholarship Amounts (2026)

• I-II Course: 9,646 to 10,320 UAH per month.
• Orphans/Children Deprived of Parental Care (I-II Course): 14,561 to 15,109 UAH per month.
• III–IV Course: 9,970 to 10,524 UAH per month.
• Orphans/Children Deprived of Parental Care (III–IV Course): 14,759 to 15,508 UAH per month.
• Excellent Students/Interns (IV Course): Up to 22,854 UAH per month.
• Excellent Students (Orphans/Children Deprived of Parental Care – IV Course): Up to 27,838 UAH per month.

Several higher military educational institutions offer specialized training programs:

National Defence University of Ukraine

This university trains officers for physical training and sports positions within the Armed Forces of Ukraine. It also offers programs for specialists in physical and sports rehabilitation of wounded service members. Admission Requirements

Admission is competitive and open to citizens of Ukraine aged 17 to 30 who have completed general secondary, vocational, professional pre-higher, or higher education. Applicants are assessed based on entrance examinations in competitive subjects, conducted at higher military educational institutions or through the National Multi-Subject Test (NMT). All applicants undergo professional and psychological screening, a final medical examination, and a physical fitness test. The program also accepts service members serving under contract and those undergoing basic military service.
