Mom’s Meals Doubles Donations, Exceeds Hunger Challenge Goal in 2025

Ankeny, Iowa – Mom’s Meals, a leading provider of medically tailored meals, significantly increased its support for food insecurity initiatives in 2025, donating 59,863 meals – exceeding its original goal. This achievement is detailed in the company’s recently released Corporate Social Responsibility Report.

Combating Food Insecurity Through the Hunger Challenge

Mom’s Meals’ Hunger Challenge initiative provides short-term access to medically tailored meals for individuals facing food or nutrition insecurity who do not qualify for other assistance programs. In addition to meal donations, the company contributed $323,000 in ingredient and food donations to local food banks.

Growing Demand for Food as Medicine

The company delivers over 1.5 million meals each week through a network of 70 facilities nationwide. Mom’s Meals attributes the rising need for its services to expanding coverage of nutrition-related benefits within Medicaid and Medicare Advantage programs. According to Chris Choi, CEO of Mom’s Meals, “Unfortunately, more people today face barriers to accessing decent nutrition than ever before. As the national leader in food as medicine, our responsibility extends beyond delivering meals and includes supporting the communities we serve.”

Past Impact of the Hunger Challenge

Over the past four years, Mom’s Meals has donated nearly 47,000 meals through the Hunger Challenge, collaborating with community-based organizations to reach those in need [1]. In 2024, the company donated 37,470 meals, surpassing its initial goal of 30,000 [2]. The 2024 Hunger Challenge allowed for the donation of 30,000 meals to food insecure individuals [3].
