Cold Weather Shelters Open in South Mississippi
As a light freeze is possible, cold weather shelters have opened in Harrison and Jackson Counties, Mississippi, to provide refuge for those in need.
Harrison County Shelter
The Kenny Fournier Multipurpose Building, located at 10395 Automall Parkway in D’Iberville, is open as a warming shelter. It opened at 4:30 p.m. On Monday, March 16, 2026. Transportation assistance is available by calling Coast Transit Authority at 228-896-8080 or visiting the CTA website for route information.
Jackson County Shelters
The Jackson County Fair Hall, located at 2902 Shortcut Road in Pascagoula (behind the Civic Center), is also open. It is open from 5 p.m. Monday through 8 a.m. Tuesday.
