Tessa Thompson’s Style Moment on “Late Night with Seth Meyers” and Broadway Debut
Tessa Thompson showcased a chic, layered look during her recent appearance on “Late Night with Seth Meyers,” coinciding with her promotion of her upcoming Broadway play, “The Fear of 13.” The actress has likewise been promoting her Netflix series “His &. Hers.”
A Study in Layering
Thompson’s outfit featured a dark, layered ensemble. She wore a flowing, sleeveless top with shimmering elements, paired with a dark felt-style miniskirt featuring sheer fabric underneath. Thompson has a long-standing relationship with the French luxury fashion house Chanel. She recently shared a memory at Chanel’s Coco Crush celebration at Chateau Marmont in January, recalling her first experience with the brand as a teenager.
“I would leave work smelling like lemons and oil, and I was going to hang out with someone I had a crush on and didn’t have time to go home and shower,” she recounted. “So I went into the bathroom, freshened up. I got paid that day — it was a Friday — and I was going to buy myself a bottle of perfume and set something on before I went to meet this crush…I didn’t even really know. It just seemed chic.”
“The Fear of 13” on Broadway
Thompson is currently preparing for her Broadway debut in “The Fear of 13,” which begins performances on Thursday, March 20, 2026. The play is based on the true story of Nick Yarris, a man wrongly convicted and sentenced to death, and his relationship with a prison volunteer who helps him fight for his exoneration. Thompson plays the role of the volunteer, and Adrien Brody stars as Yarris. Yarris was ultimately discharged thanks to DNA evidence, becoming the first man on Pennsylvania’s death row to be exonerated in this manner.
