Dallas Road Rage Shooting Leaves One Dead, Two Injured

A road rage incident in South Dallas escalated into a shooting on Thursday night, leaving one man dead and two others injured, according to Dallas Police. The shooting occurred in the 4500 block of South Fitzhugh Avenue around 11 p.m.

Details of the Shooting

Preliminary investigations indicate a black sedan was being tailgated by a small white SUV. The vehicles continued to a bridge where a confrontation took place, followed by gunfire NBC DFW. Authorities arrived on the scene to find three men with gunshot wounds. One victim died at the scene, while two others were transported to a local hospital. One of the hospitalized victims was listed in critical condition WFAA.

A fourth person was in the vehicle at the time of the shooting but was not injured. That individual was taken to police headquarters for questioning WFAA. Family members at the scene indicated an uncle was in the car with his nephews when the shooting occurred WFAA.

Witness Accounts

Anthony Smith, a witness to the aftermath of the shooting, described hearing multiple gunshots. “They were like, baa baa, baa baa. It was frequent. I say like a lower caliber gun,” Smith stated NBC DFW. He also expressed concern about the level of crime in the area, stating, “This is a high, crime is heavy over here.”

Ongoing Investigation

Police are currently investigating the incident and reviewing surveillance footage from nearby businesses NBC DFW. As of Friday afternoon, no arrests have been made. The Medical Examiner’s Office has not yet released the identity of the deceased victim. The investigation is ongoing.
