Selah Sue and The Gallands Debut Collaborative Album ‘Movin’’
Belgian-Dutch singer-songwriter Selah Sue has released her first record with father-son musical duo The Gallands, titled Movin’, today, March 20, 2026. The album, released via Because Music, marks a novel chapter for Sue, who found creative revitalization through the collaboration.
Origins of the Collaboration
The project began in June 2025 when Stéphane Galland was given carte blanche at the Jazz Middelheim festival in Antwerp. He envisioned a collaboration with Selah Sue, stating, “For the occasion, I wanted to reach up with something a little original, and that’s when I had the idea of inviting Selah to join us. Elvin and I had long dreamed of having a singer accompany our music. We were thrilled when Selah said yes.”
A Turning Point for Selah Sue
Sue herself was navigating a challenging period when The Gallands reached out. “To be honest, I wasn’t doing exceptionally well when the Gallands contacted me,” she admitted. Encouraged by her husband, who considers Stéphane Galland a musical giant, Sue found inspiration in their instrumental work. “It fascinated and galvanized me at the same time. As soon as we started jamming together, instinctively, our first draft was the right one.”
Recording and Musical Contributions
Initially planned as an EP, the project quickly expanded into a full-length album. Movin’ was recorded across various locations in Brussels, Elvin Galland’s home studio, and near Leuven at Selah Sue’s residence. The album features contributions from Federico Pecoraro on bass, guitars, and string arrangements, alongside Elvin Galland’s Rhodes electric keyboard and Stéphane Galland’s drumming.
European Tour Dates
The release of Movin’ is accompanied by an extensive tour across Europe. Dates and locations have not been specified.
Social Media Buzz
Selah Sue shared the news of the album’s release on social media, expressing gratitude to her collaborators and the record label, Because Music. Instagram and Facebook posts highlighted her excitement about the project.
