Fearless Fund Expands into Africa with $42 Billion Initiative for Women Entrepreneurs

Accra, Ghana – March 21, 2026 – Fearless Fund, led by Her Majesty Queen of Dawa Grand-Béréby, Arian Simone, announced the launch of Fearless Fund Africa, a strategic initiative aimed at providing critical capital to female-led enterprises across the continent. The fund seeks to address a significant $42 billion financing gap that disproportionately affects women entrepreneurs in Africa.

Addressing the Gender Financing Gap in Africa

Simone, speaking at the launch event held at the Accra Marriott Hotel, emphasized the vital role of women in Africa’s economic development. She stated, “Africa cannot and will not reach its destiny without the full power of its women.” Simone highlighted the pervasive underfunding of women-owned businesses despite their significant contributions to markets, farms, and the informal sector, exemplified by the bustling trade hubs in Accra and Kumasi.

The Fearless Fund’s approach centers on recognizing African women not as “high-risk” investments, but as “high-return” opportunities. This philosophy drives the organization’s mission to provide essential capital to ventures historically overlooked by traditional financial systems.

Microfinance and Training Programs

Fearless Fund Africa will introduce a new microfinance fund specifically designed for women, offering small, high-impact loans to those lacking collateral or facing systemic barriers to credit. Beyond financial support, the initiative will also focus on equipping women with the skills and resources needed to scale their businesses.

The fund’s “Get Venture Ready” program has already trained over 1,000 women globally, providing mentorship, networking opportunities, and business development support. This program aims to empower women with the knowledge and connections necessary to navigate the challenges of entrepreneurship.

A Movement for Economic Inclusion

Simone framed the launch as more than just a financial initiative, describing it as a movement to redefine participation in Africa’s economic future. “You are no longer invisible. You are indispensable,” she declared to the audience.

The launch of Fearless Fund Africa comes at a time when global institutions, such as the World Economic Forum, estimate that closing the gender financing gap could add over $300 billion to Africa’s GDP [World Economic Forum]. Simone underscored that Africa’s challenge isn’t a lack of innovation, but a lack of investors willing to recognize the economic potential of women.

Ghana as a Hub for Female Entrepreneurship

With Ghana positioning itself as a leading hub for female entrepreneurship, the arrival of Fearless Fund signals a potential turning point. The initiative aims to unlock individual success stories and drive broader economic transformation led by women.
