Irish Talent Shines at the 2026 BAFTA Television Awards
Graham Norton and Philippa Dunne are among the Irish nominees recognized at the 2026 BAFTA Television Awards, with Adolescence leading the nominations overall.
Key Nominations for Irish Stars
Graham Norton’s The Graham Norton Show has received a nomination in the Entertainment category . Philippa Dunne is nominated for Actress in a Comedy for her performance in Amandaland, a spin-off from the series Motherland . This marks Dunne’s first BAFTA nomination.
Drama and Series Recognition
Several Irish-linked dramas have too been nominated. Channel 4’s Trespasses, adapted from Louise Kennedy’s novel set during the Troubles in Belfast, is nominated in the Limited Drama field. The series was written by Ailbhe Keogan and produced by Maria Mulhall . The Belfast-set police drama Blue Lights is nominated for Drama Series, with Siân Brooke also shortlisted for Leading Actress .

Irish talent is also recognized in other categories. Director Seamus Malone has been nominated in the Children’s: Non-Scripted category for Shaun the Sheep . Dublin director Diarmuid Goggins is nominated for his work on Code of Silence in the Drama Series category .
Adolescence Leads the Nominations
Adolescence received seven nominations followed by A Thousand Blows with three. Blue Lights, Amandaland, Big Boys and What It Feels Like for a Girl are also strongly represented among the nominees .
BAFTA Television Awards Ceremony
The BAFTA Television Awards with P&O Cruises will be hosted by Greg Davies and broadcast on BBC One on Sunday, May 10th .
Memorable Moment Award
A sequence from Blue Lights, depicting a potential ambush, is also competing for the public-voted “Memorable Moment” award, alongside scenes from Adolescence, Big Boys, The Celebrity Traitors, Last One Laughing, and What It Feels Like for a Girl .
