LVMPD and LAPD to Clash in Charity Boxing Event – ‘Sin City Showdown’

Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) officers will face off against their counterparts from the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) in a charity boxing event dubbed “Sin City Showdown” on Sunday, March 29, at Virgin Hotels Las Vegas. The event aims to raise funds and awareness for local community programs, including Center Ring Boxing.

A Dozen Bouts Planned, Featuring Youth Boxers

The “Sin City Showdown” will feature approximately a dozen boxing matches, culminating in a main event showcasing LAPD’s undefeated champion against a top fighter from the LVMPD. Several bouts will likewise include local youth boxers, providing them with a platform to showcase their skills.

Supporting Center Ring Boxing

LVMPD Sergeant Albert Carreon highlighted the event’s connection to Center Ring Boxing, a local gym that offers a safe after-school environment for children and has produced a Golden Gloves champion. “We’re hoping this brings the community together to cheer for us,” Carreon said. “Some of our officers have lost up to 50 pounds training for these kinds of events. We’re hoping to have the community support us and hopefully support Center Ring as we go through it.”
