Jackson Herndon, a junior at Hampden-Sydney College, has reached a new milestone in his athletic career. Herndon delivered a standout performance in the outdoor 800 meter run, posting a time of 1:54.20. This mark not only represents a collegiate-best for the athlete but also establishes a new school record for Hampden-Sydney.

Herndon’s success at the collegiate level follows a strong family tradition at the institution. He is the son of Neil and Cortney Herndon of Callands. His father, Neil, a 2002 graduate of Hampden-Sydney, was also a two-sport athlete for the Tigers, competing in both football and baseball.

Following in these footsteps, Jackson signed his letter of intent on June 1st to become a two-sport athlete himself. Even as currently making waves in track and field, he is also listed as part of the Men’s Cross Country roster.
