Director Elliot Silverstein, responsible for films such as Cat Ballou (The explosive ingenue) y A Man Called Horse (A man called Horse), died at the age of 96 in Los Angeles.
Silverstein died last Friday in Los Angeles, although the specialized media echoed this Monday the announcement made by his relatives through the obituary website Legacy.
Born in Boston on August 3, 1927, Silverstein began his career in the industry as television series director among which stand Omnibus (1955), Route 66 (1960) o Naked City(The naked city1961).
After several years focused on television projects, in 1965 he made his film debut with the film Cat Balloua comedy starring Jane Fonda and Lee Marvin what he got five nominations for the Hollywood Academy Awards and that gave Marvin the Oscar for best actor.
The following decade, Silverstein dedicated himself to film, directing titles such as The Happening (The event, 1967), starring Anthony Queen; the western A Man Called Horse (1970), with Richard Harris and Judith Anderson, or the horror film The Car (invisible killer1977), which followed the story of a mysterious black self-driving car involved in a series of murders.
