Dr. Jamil Northcutt Appointed as Executive Director of The Players Alliance
The Players Alliance, a nonprofit organization dedicated to making baseball more accessible through increased representation, has appointed Dr. Jamil Northcutt as its new executive director and CEO. Northcutt assumed his role in May, as announced by the organization.
Background and Experience
Northcutt brings over two decades of experience in collegiate and professional sports. A former Ole Miss football player, he has worked with the Southeastern Conference (SEC), the Ole Miss athletic department, and professional teams such as the Kansas City Chiefs and Cleveland Browns. His career also includes stints with the NFL league office, the NCAA, and Major League Soccer (MLS). Prior to joining The Players Alliance, Northcutt served as a strategic consultant.
Leadership and Mission
Northcutt joins a board of executives including Curtis Granderson, CC Sabathia, and Edwin Jackson. The Players Alliance aims to address systemic barriers in baseball by creating pathways to opportunities through programs focused on participation, mentorship, professional development, educational grants, and community service.
