A powerful fire has burned down a shoe factory in the Raposal Polygon from the town of Arnedo, as reported by SOS Rioja. There is no cause for personal injury but the factory has been completely destroyed.
The Emergency Coordination Center has mobilized the Civil Guard and Firefighters from the CEIS, from Logroño, in support of the Arnedo Civil Protection. Units from the Red Cross and Iberdrola have also attended, as well as Emergency Resources from the Rioja Health Service for preventive purposes.
The fire is controlled but not extinguished and some units continue working to put out the fire, which is contained in the facility.
“Firefighters from all over La Rioja have been working all night in the city to try to extinguish the fire that has burned practically all of the FAL Seguridad and Chiruca facilities except for an exterior warehouse where they store raw materials,” he stated. The gas emission due to possible impact on the urban area and a traffic plan has been established to allow safe access to the industrial estate for the rest of the personnel who go to their jobs.
