Ace Bed, a leading mattress manufacturer, has partnered with microfiber cleaning company Welcron to launch the ‘Microcare Waterproof Cover,’ designed to enhance mattress protection and allergy care. The new product combines Welcron’s expertise in microfiber technology with Ace Bed’s mattress science, offering consumers a solution for maintaining mattress hygiene and longevity.
Enhanced Waterproofing Technology
The Microcare waterproof cover utilizes thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) coating technology applied to the fabric surface. This technology effectively prevents liquids – including water, sweat, and urine – from penetrating the mattress, ensuring a hygienic sleep environment. The cover boasts a waterproof performance exceeding 2000mm of water pressure, making it suitable for individuals who perspire heavily during sleep or households with infants and young children.
Allergy and Hygiene Features
Beyond waterproofing, the cover incorporates Wellosh fabric, certified by the British Association of Allergy (BAF), to block allergy-causing substances like house dust mites. The fabric’s pore size, less than 10μm (micrometer), prevents the passage of pollen and mites while still allowing for air and moisture permeability, maximizing comfort. The cover has been verified by both domestic and international organizations, including the Korea Atopy Association and FITI (Korea Yarn and Textile Testing Institute).

Testing has demonstrated the Microcare waterproof cover reduces harmful bacteria that can contribute to atopy and respiratory diseases by 99.9%. It too features deodorizing properties to eliminate formaldehyde components often found in new furniture.

The Microcare waterproof cover is available in sizes ranging from deluxe single to large king. Custom sizes, including LK2000 and other non-standard dimensions, are also available. Pricing ranges from 185,000 to 245,000 won, depending on the size, and includes a one-year warranty.
