Pan Lingling Shares Emotional Farewell as Son Heads to US for Studies
SINGAPORE – actress Pan Lingling was deeply moved when her eldest son, Beckham Wee, departed for overseas studies.He’ll be gone for the next 15 months.
On Aug 23, she posted photos on social media showing her hugging the 25-year-old and saying goodbye at Changi Airport.
“I was so proud of him, but also a little sad,” she wrote. “it feels like only yesterday he was a little boy holding my hand on the way to kindergarten. Now, in a blink, he’s an adult, ready to explore the world.”
The 55-year-old continued: “From kindergarten through university – Mum and Dad have seen all your hard work and growth. We’re incredibly proud. Because we’ve seen your dedication, we wholeheartedly support your dream of studying abroad.”
Pan is married to actor huang Shinan, 64. They also have a younger son, Kynaston, 23, who is studying computer engineering at a local university.
She told Shin Min Daily News that Wee is going to Chicago to pursue a master’s degree in financial mathematics. He recently graduated from the Singapore University of Technology and Design with first-class honors in computer science.
