Alan Varela Called Up to Argentina’s National Team for World Cup Qualifiers

Alan Varela’s strong start with FC Porto has been recognized with a place on the Argentine team’s final list for the upcoming world Cup qualification matches against Venezuela and Ecuador on September 5th and 10th, respectively. Varela was initially included in lionel Scaloni’s 31-player pre-selection a week and a half ago, and has now been confirmed as one of 29 players selected for the final squad, alongside Benfica’s Nico Otamendi.
