Comedian Alina Sharipova has been awarded the top prize at the prestigious Leids Cabaret Festival. The professional jury recognized Sharipova’s performance as the most outstanding, while Meeuw Roovers received the audience award.
The jury lauded Sharipova’s ability to connect with the audience, noting her comfort on stage created a reciprocal ease for viewers. They further commented on a compelling, subtly provocative element within her act, stating, “There is something hazardous about her, the way she makes us almost unnoticed complicit in her completely perverse ideas.”
