Banijay and All3Media Merger Creates $8 Billion Global Production Group
French production company Banijay and U.K.-based All3Media have agreed to merge, creating a new television production powerhouse with an enterprise value of $8 billion. The deal brings together the producers of globally popular franchises like “Peaky Blinders,” “The Traitors,” and “MasterChef.”
Deal Details and Structure
The merger, announced on March 3, 2026, will result in a combined company with revenues exceeding €4.4 billion ($5.1 billion) in 2024 and adjusted EBITDA of €690 million ($800 million). Pro forma revenues for the combined Banijay Group are expected to reach €7.4 billion ($8.59 billion). Both Banijay and All3Media will hold a 50 percent stake in the new entity, which will operate under the Banijay name.
RedBird IMI, the joint venture between RedBird Capital Partners and Abu Dhabi-based IMI media group, owns All3Media. Jeff Zucker, CEO of RedBird IMI, will serve as Chairman of the Board of the merged company. Marco Bassetti, currently CEO of Banijay Entertainment, will develop into CEO of the newly formed group and Jane Turton, currently CEO of All3Media, will serve as Deputy CEO. The deal is expected to close in the fall of 2026.
Key Productions and Formats
The combined entity will boast a vast library of over 260,000 hours of programming, encompassing more than 45 formats produced in over three territories as of 2025. Notable productions include:
- Banijay: “Peaky Blinders,” “Considerable Brother,” “Survivor,” “MasterChef,” and “Black Mirror.”
- All3Media: “The Traitors,” “Squid Game: The Challenge,” “Race Across the World,” “The Tourist,” and “1917.”
- Additional Productions: “Gogglebox” and films like “Hamnet.”
The merger also brings together production companies such as Studio Lambert (producer of “The Traitors”), Kudos (producer of “Peaky Blinders”), Two Brothers (maker of “The Tourist”), and Neal Street (behind upcoming Beatles films directed by Sam Mendes).
Industry Impact and Future Outlook
This merger consolidates two of the largest independent television production companies, creating a significant player in the global media landscape. Both Banijay and All3Media are considered “super-indies,” and their combination is expected to strengthen their position in a rapidly evolving industry. The deal reflects a broader trend of consolidation within the television production sector, as companies seek to scale and compete in the face of increasing competition from streaming services and other media conglomerates.
As Marco Bassetti stated, consolidation is a key strategy in the current media environment. The combined Banijay Group, with its extensive catalog and global reach, is well-positioned to capitalize on the growing demand for content across various platforms.
