Valentina Shevchenko could face a surprising contender after continuing her dominant streak.
In the co-main event of UFC 322, Shevchenko dominated Zhang Weili to defend her flyweight title at Madison Square Garden.
Many believed that the former strawweight champion would prove to be an fascinating challenge for ‘Bullet’ but this wasn’t the case.
While it will be interesting to see where Zhang goes from here the result once again opens up the question of what new tests are out there for one of the sport’s most impressive champions.
A former opponent of hers who is currently preparing for a return to the Octagon seemingly wants to add one more chapter to thier previous rivalry.

With her win at UFC 322, Valentina Shevchenko matched Amanda Nunes’ record of the most title fight wins of any female fighter at 11.
Some argued ahead of November 15 that another win for Shevchenko could also see her dethrone Nunes as the greatest female fighter that we’ve ever seen inside the Octagon.
In their two previous meetings,the Brazilian came out on top on both occasions,beating ‘Bullet’ via unanimous decision in 2016 and split decision in 2017.
At the time, Shevchenko was competing at bantamweight before the flyweight division was added to the UFC which she has comfortably made her home.

Following her victory at UFC 322, Valentina Shevchenko is considering several potential opponents for her next fight, including a highly anticipated trilogy bout with Amanda Nunes or a clash with Kayla Harrison. Shevchenko discussed her options with the media, acknowledging the fan interest in a third fight with Nunes while also recognizing Harrison as a formidable challenge.
Shevchenko stated, “I think it’s one of the possibilities, yes. I’m considering that… Bantamweight, now we have Amanda or Kayla and I would say probably fans would love to see amanda trilogy because it was unfinished business but at the same time, it’s unclear yet is she’s returning or not returning? The former flyweight champion also expressed uncertainty about Nunes’s future in the sport and her potential condition upon a return. “Also it’s unknown what shape she’s going to return in, maybe half Amanda or full Amanda, who knows?” Shevchenko added.
Despite the questions surrounding Nunes, Shevchenko is also vrey interested in facing Kayla harrison. “kayla is another possibility and it’s going to be another super challenge.”

Shevchenko remains open to defending her title against current flyweight contenders as well, but the possibility of facing either Nunes or Harrison clearly holds significant appeal.
