Ammerud Knife Threat: Police Shooting – Greater Oslo Incident

Police received around 30 emergency calls at 6 p.m. on Thursday, reporting a man threatening people with a knife at Ammerud.

The man had two knives and threatened random people at Ammerudhellinga, according to police.

“The first unit to arrive on the scene encountered the suspect,who was still in possession of two knives,” operations manager Gabriel langfeldt told NRK.
“In this connection, he was shot by the police,” he adds.

– not life-threateningly injured

The man was treated by ambulance on the spot and has now been taken to hospital.

The suspect is a man in his 40s.

  • He is of course seriously injured when he is shot, but he is not life-threateningly injured, says Langfeldt.

Jon Helge Ihlebek (65) says that the experience was scary.

A witness at the site with NRK talked to describes the episode as very scary.

-I’ve lived here since the 80s, I’ve never experienced anything like that, says Jon helge Ihlebek (65).

He says he heard two shots when he was on his way out the door.

Mohamed Naveed Asif (15) also witnessed the incident.
