An 80-year-old woman and her 55-year-old son died early this Friday as a result of a fire that originated inside his home, in a block of flats of Queen’s Talavera (Toledo).
Sources from the 112 emergency and emergency service have informed EFE that the event took place at 00:30 this Friday in a nine-story block of flats located in the butchers street.
The old woman has died inside her home, while the son has been rescued still alive by firefighters and, although he has been treated by an UVI doctor, he has finally died from smoke inhalation.
The fire started in the outside air conditioning console and, subsequently, it has spread through the house where the two victims lived. The flames have been confined to the floor where the fire originated thanks to the actions of the firefighters and have not spread to other homes in the building, which were evacuated.
The fire has already been extinguished and the residents have been able to return to their homes. A National Police patrol, Talavera firefighters and an UVI have participated in the operation.
