An avalanche of snow at a popular ski resort in Palisades Tahoein California, claimed the life of a man this Wednesday and left another person injured, according to authorities. The avalanche occurred around 09:30 local time (17:30 GMT) on the Palisades side of the station. Lake Tahoe.
A little less than five hours later, the Placer County Sheriff’s Office reported the discovery of the victims. He also reported that there are no more missing.
The avalanche, which forced the ski slope to close minutes after it opened, was almost 46 meters wide, more than 137 meters long and about 3 meters deep.
According to the weather forecast network The Weather Channel, “eyewitnesses” had seen how “several people were buried in the slide.”
Palisades Tahoe is a ski resort located in the Olympic Valleyin California, which was the site of the 1960 Winter Olympics.
