While India is seeing immediate gains, Apple also harbors ambitions to bring some production back to the United States. This isn’t a straightforward process,however. The primary obstacle isn’t labor costs, but rather the lack of a robust domestic robotics and automation infrastructure. gina Raimondo, the U.S. Secretary of Commerce, has highlighted that Apple is waiting for the widespread availability of advanced robotic arms and automation technologies to make “Made in the USA” iPhones economically viable.
