Argentine Tennis Player Hernán Casanova Suspended for Betting Violations
Buenos Aires, Argentina – February 19, 2026 – Hernán Casanova, a 32-year-old professional tennis player from Argentina, has been suspended for two months by the International Tennis Integrity Agency (ITIA) under the Tennis Anti-Corruption Program (TACP). The suspension began on February 4, 2026 and will conclude on April 3, 2026.
Casanova, who reached a career-high world singles ranking of 221 in October 2022, admitted to betting on numerous tennis matches between 2023 and 2025 in which he had no involvement or influence, a breach of the TACP. He also admitted to failing to report a corrupt approach, a separate violation of the 2024 TACP.
The athlete accepted a sanction of two months and a $2,000 fine, with $1,500 of the fine suspended. During the period of ineligibility, Casanova is prohibited from playing in, coaching at, or attending any tennis event authorized or sanctioned by ITIA members, including the ATP, ITF, WTA, Tennis Australia, Fédération Française de Tennis, Wimbledon, and the USTA, as well as any national association.
The ITIA is an independent body established to promote and safeguard the integrity of professional tennis events.
